If I won the lottery, the very first thing I would do would be to pay off my mortgage. The peace of mind that comes with knowing you have a permanent forever roof over your head would be indescribable. I would then take care of my family, setting up trust funds for my children, providing for my parents and siblings and making sure no one ever had to worry about money again. After that, charities would be on the agenda, it is a great feeling to be able to give back to the world. Finally, a trip to anywhere exotic, that would be my only “me” splurge. After all those good deeds, I would deserve a little fun.
